Local Attractions in North Myrtle Beach for Kids

North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a hot spot year-round for family vacations. Of course, the beach is a popular destination and hours and hours can be spent at the many beautiful shores in North Myrtle Beach. If you're looking for family and kid-friendly attractions to fill the other hours of the day, here are some fun activities in the area to consider:

Family Kingdom
Family Kingdom is Myrtle Beach's only seaside amusement park, perfect for families with children. From steel roller coasters to a tall Ferris wheel, the park has pretty much anything for a kid to enjoy. There are go-karts, slingshot drops, wooden roller coasters, and tons more.

In addition to the park, there's an adjacent oceanfront water park, Splashes. When it's lunch time, there's an outdoor picnic pavilion for covered dining, which can also accommodate birthday parties and other large gatherings.

Myrtle Waves
Just as you might have guessed, Myrtle Waves is another water park that's perfect for children. It has it all, from raft rides to slides and more. Their small kiddie park, Bubble Bay, keeps the safety of toddlers in mind with a leisure pool of only six to eighteen inches deep. For older kids, hit the Ocean in Motion Wave Pool that produces waves over 4 feet tall. This is the Carolinas' largest wave pool with depths ranging from 0 to 6 feet.

Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show
Take a break from the waves and enjoy some good old-fashioned dinner show with the family. Join Captain Blackbeard and his crew among a few other pirates for an exciting dinner show as they battle it out for some lost treasure. Kids will enjoy the upbeat show. Those who arrive early can also explore Pirates Village and join the crew with some face painting and pirate dress-up.

Ripley's Haunted Adventure
We're well into October, and one of the most exciting attractions is Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums. During Fridays and Saturdays in October, guests can join the Haunted Adventure Fright Nights for a one-of-a-kind thrill. This thrill might not be fun for very little ones, but families with teenagers can find excitement in this three-story haunted house.
